Our Black Ointment relieves chapped skin and soothes muscles, ligaments and joints to help you focus on life, without irritation. It works wonders on rashes and itchy skin as well as aches and pains. It can even improve chronic skin conditions. With its lightly-scented formula, it can be applied to strains, sprains, backache as well as itchy irritated skin, scrapes, burns and rashes for relief.

Adults: Apply a thin layer to affected areas, massaging gently into skin. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Use a clean swab or finger for each application.


Allergy alert: contains chickweed and marshmallow. May cause severe allergic reaction. Ask a health care practitioner if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Stop use and ask a health care practitioner if: skin irritation and/or rash develops or increases; if symptoms persist and/or worsen after 7 days or reoccur within a few days. When using this product: application should only occur on intact skin; marshmallow may increase the topical anti-inflammatory effects of steroids; prolonged application may result in tar acne; some people are very susceptible to tar, an erythema following the application of even dilute preparations of it have been known to occur. Keep out of reach of children.

About the Active Ingredients

Olive Oil offers strong antioxident and anti-inflammatory properties useful with skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and contact dermatitis. It has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties to help control and treat infections. Pine Tar has antiseptic, antibacterial and antipruritic properties that can help to clean and support the healing of many skin irritations and wounds. It is historically useful in treating scaly, itchy skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. Chaparral helps to reduce infection and inflammation. It is used for viral and fungal dermal infections including eczema, dermatitis, scabies, ane, boils, warts and athlete’s foot. It appears to promote tissue repair. White oak is used for its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent properties. Chickweed has emollient properties, and a cooling and drying effect on wounds, boils and rashes. Its useful in treating splinters, cuts, rashes, minor burns, psoriasis, eczema, chapped skin, insect bites and skin wounds. Comfrey has antioxidant, demulcent, emollient and culnerary properties that help to support healing of damaged skin tissue. It helps to protect wounds; promote healing; soothe burns, insect bites and skin wounds. Used externally it helps to relieve pain and swelling due to inflammation. Lobelia helps to reduce swelling and pain associated with wounds, poison ivy, insect bites and ringworm. It has been used to help draw out boils and also helps to sooth muscle tension. Is also helpful for its antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. This can provide relief for rheumatic conditions including rheumatic nodules and muscular inflammation due to strains and sprains. Marshmallow root has been used for centuries as a topical anti-inflammatory with antimicrobial effects. Common uses include infected skin wounds, boils, ulcers, inflamed cuts, burns, insect bites and chapped skin. It has demulcent, emollient and vulnerary properties that work synergistically in supporting the effects of other herbs. Red clover contains the anti-inflammatory compounds eugenol, myricetin and salicylic acid which helps to reduce inflammation and pain associated with sores, burns, eczema and psoriasis. Goldenseal provides strong antimicrobial and antibacterial properties along with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent properties that help to control infection associated with minor sores and wounds. Eucalyptus was first used by Australian Aborigines to treat wounds, prevent infection, and promote healing.
